   I completed Vol-1 CD1/CD2/CD3/CD4. One of the most challenging thing I had to overcome in learning Vol-1 was to play the correct fingering on all 12 major scales with both hands simultaneously. I could play the scales with either my left hand or right hand alone but not with both hands together. Well, my two hands did not talk to each other at all, I almost gave up not wanting to complete the Vol-1 because I thought I could never do it! But then I kept on trying and trying and eventually I develop some sort of a muscle memory on both hands.

   I now can play all 12 major scales (on two octaves) with both hands simultaneously at a decent pace and occasionally my finger might slip off a key a little bit but then I recognize it and make some adjustment.

   I am now ready for Vol-2.

      Congratulations Tuan, you did it.

      Thanks for sharing. I love it how you reached a point where you were going to skip the exercises and give up trying, but you didn’t. You stayed with it and persevered and didn’t allow the exercise to conquer you, you conquered the exercise. And as you can tell now, the musical growth and confidence you gain as a result of setting a goal, experiencing an obstacle and overcoming the obstacle is such a rewarding feeling.

      I applaud you again for going through the Beginner training, even though you are at the Intermediate level. Had you skipped it, you wouldn’t have known that you are missing something until you need that exact skill in the more advance exercises. What you gained from all of this is called “Independence”. That’s when it’s a lot more comfortable to have one hand playing something and the other hand playing something else.

      Great job again. You’re going to love Vol.2. the days of not being able to comfortably play in Any Key with ease are over. At least that’s what you will say after completing Vol.2.

      I look forward to adding you to the Vol.2 AKMS Wall of Achievers.

      Way to go Curtis!! I look forward to celebrating your achievement and adding your name to the “AKMS Wall of Achievement” in next month’s Achievers Video. The fact that you completed Vol.1 in 3 days means:
      – You are very serious about your results,
      – You are Focussed,
      – You may have had prior playing experience, but you still are very teachable,
      – You didn’t see my recommendation for everyone (regardless of past experience) to complete the “Beginner – Foundation” Level in order to be reprogrammed; as belittling.

      You’re going to do great. If you continue to do exactly what I ask, you’ll be very happy with your results in 1 year.

      I look forward to your success in Volume 2. It’s a little bit more challenging, but now you have the proper foundation to handle it.

   I completed all of vol1. The hearing of the cords gave me a little trouble at first but I got it. there are patterns to the fingering to both black and white key that made things fall into place. Though me and that left hand b cord don’t get along.

    Man this is the best program I’ve ever tried. I also realized that you cannot moved on to the next vol if you wanted too until you’ve mastered the first one. That gives me motivation.

    Just want to let you know I got through disk 4. And I am doing the exercises I should of done a long time ago, just that no one had them organized like you have!.
    Just started Vol 2, and looks real good. If it turns out like it looks I will certainly improve my skills and be very grateful to you.
    In regards to your webinars, most of the turn out to start at 3 in the morning here in Catalonia and sometimes I am too tired and fall asleep before they start!!. But I can always watch them later!

    Robert hi !
    Sorry, I got a little busy, ie. carried away with my practice, and forgot to fill you in on my progress.
    I started on July 14th and completed all of your requirements of the Foundation level in one (1) month and four (4) days, putting in twenty (20) hrs/week.
    I am now doing Vol 2..CD 1
    I have taken off a week from work and instead of traveling, I am using this time as a working vacation with a plan to get in about seventy (70) hrs. of practice time. I am beginning to understand the language and there is a remarkable difference in my playing ability.

       You’re going to love Volume 2 as it’s one of the most important in the entire Any Key Music System. It will challenge you. But I know you have the determination. So focus on the fact that you will develop the skills necessary to complete by doing everything I’ll teach and recommend that you do.

    Volume 1 CD4 completed.
    B flat and F sharp major scales, both hands together, were the most challenging for me.
    I went as far as 144 BPM on my metronome. I will not attempt a faster speed as yet.
    I will practicing the major scales for the rest of my life. I’m seeing he benefits.
    So far, everything is fine. Thanks.

I’m glad that you listened to my recommendation to simply complete the AKMS Foundation and make sure that there are no cracks within your musical foundation.

       You see, solidifying your AKMS Foundation by starting from the Beginning, even though you had previous experience, wasn’t that bad. You completed it in less than 7 days and now I can really bring out the real musician within you. Keep up the great work.

          Thank you Robert, AND I am glad I did LISTEN, I use to think my foundation was pretty strong, but after going through the foundation CDs, I was able to see where the cracks in my foundation were, and now thanks to you those cracks have been filled, The Practice Routines for Beginners is now part of my daily workout before I begin my lessons on CD2, thanks again…….

    Hi Robert!

    I have just completed Vol.1. And I can’t believe that I almost skipped it, but after seeing how much you insisted about its importance I decided to start with it. I was humbled by how many things we take for granted thinking we know them, but when we actually don’t. Eg. The Rob SAYS Threes were amazingly challenging on something as simple as identifying a key on the keyboard. Major scales and major chords practices were very helpful. I am looking forward to level 2 and its challenges.

    Hi Robert,

    Now I completed Vol. 1 CD 4.
    First speeding up the major scales to the speed of Vol.1 CD4 Trk.8 was too hard for me.
    Your tips playing again slowly, starting with the speed of Vol.1 CD3 Trk. 19, enjoying the exercises, not taking time as a measure, and so on … were very good.

    One day that fast speed seemed to be not so fast as well. I was surprised about that and so I’m enjoying learning more and more.

    In my traditional piano training it’s going on as well. About one and a have year I had the feeling that there was not progress and I thought there must exist another way playing piano. Since I’ve begun with your method, there is so much progress and I’m very happy about that.

    You recommend not to use the transpose button. I think your method and your excellent supporting press the transpose button in my mind all the time.

    Your method is so clever.

    YES I did it. I completed volume 1. I played and practiced 52 hours in total for this volume.
    I have never had such a fun time playing the piano. It was always a burden en a struggle to get better. But now, with Robert and AKMS it’s so much fun! I love it.

    I have finally completed Vol. 1, CD4! It was harder for me because I had to really work to get my last two fingers, #4 and #5, of the left hand, to work more easily, because a few years ago my left hand was paralyzed, and those two fingers have not fully recovered. I have found, however, that if I just relax, and not focus on the fingers, it goes much smoother. I can now play the scales at the required speed.
    I have studied other systems before, but they only touch the surface of what is needed to master the concepts of keyboard. AKMS goes much deeper, and it is like learning all new keyboard concepts, which, for me it is.

    I finished vol. 1, playing the scales at a fast temp really challenged me, but I practiced for hours and hours and even did some excercises to strenghten my tendons. Long story short: It all worked out!
